Our Father’s Day Celebration

We had an advance father’s day celebration last Saturday. Again, it was just a simple celebration at home. I cooked carbonara, orange chicken fillet and we bought cake.
Then we gave our gift to Daddy Rhonnel. It doesn’t costs much but he liked it and displayed it in his office table. It is RJ and Mommy’s labor of love.

On father’s day itself, we went to SM Marikina to celebrate my niece’s birthday and these were the scenes.

People, mostly families, are everywhere. Establishments were jampacked most especially the restaurants so we had to wait for an hour before we were able to eat. It’s nice to see that families are giving importance to father’s day. Most fathers may not be showy like us mothers and they may not have been looked to as the nurturing creatures but fathers do care about their children and families so they deserve a very special day.

Daddy Moments

When I was looking for the pictures to be posted today, I noticed that Rhonnel and RJ has more photos together. I don’t know why but it seems I am the photographer most of the time. lol!

These pictures show how Rhonnel is as a father. RJ is a sweet child and she is very close to her dad. Few years from now and she will be a teenager. I just hope that things will remain as is as years go by.

To our loving Dad and to all dads in the whole world, happy Father’s Day!

Father’s Day Plans

I am planning to cook special menus this Sunday for the Father’s day celebration but my sister-in-law is inviting us for her youngest daughter’s birthday celebration. Though it is lunch time, I am sure it will take us until late afternoon. May be we will have an advance Father’s day celebration on Saturday. I don’t have menus yet in mind but because it is hubby’s day, I want to surprise him with his favorite foods. That means we will forget about the diet again. Sunday is an exemption since there will be a celebration…excuses…excuses.

The truth is I feel guilty because I am preparing sandwiches and other light meals for dinner for 2 weeks now. I know Rhonnel is tired at work and hungry when he gets home. But he has gained so much weight and I am worried about his health. So to pay for the last two weeks meal, I will cook his favorite foods but only for Father’s day. After the celebration, back to sandwiches again. Giving priority to his health, should I feel guilty or not? Care to share your Father’s Day plans?

Meet Our Fathers

I always brag about my Mom here. It is only now that I will brag about my Dad. I don’t know why. May be because it is only now that I am given the change. Introducing…my father Mr. Rustico Encarnacion. Known by his friends as Rusty, Tico or Tatay.

Everybody says I am the female version of Tatay, not only in facial features but also in height, lol! My Mom is a few inches taller than him. He may be small but he has a big heart. He worked overseas since I was in the 3rd grade and stayed here for good when I was already working. He was with us during his vacations though, one to three months every two years. He said that it is his biggest regret, being away from us for so many times, the reason why we are closer to our Mom, even my brothers. But then he was able to raise and send us to school, all the six of us.

Tatay is a very good cook, better than Nanay. Caldereta, dinuguan and kare-kare are his specialty. He also hates a messy house especially the comfort room that is why he is cleaning the CR everyday. As a lolo, he is a spoiler. I hate it so much when I am disciplining RJ and he is always on the rescue. He would say “Huwag mong pagalitan. Ganyan talaga mga bata.” Then he would call RJ, “Halika, anak. Galit natin si Mama.” Grrr!

Tatay may be not the perfect father but for us, he is the best. I admire him for sacrificing those every previous moments just to give us decent lives.

Introducing my father-in-law…Mr. Filomeno Dacio. Known by his friends as Fill, Chito or Chiqui (short for Chiquito). Like my dad, he is just a small man with a big, big, big heart.

I love this man so much. He is very kind, patient and broad-minded. He is treating me like his own daughter and we get along very well. I love it when he hugs and kisses me. I can feel his fatherly love. Whenever he has problems, he would go to our house and confide with me without any hesitations. He is not even ashamed of sharing me his secrets and his naughty escapades, things that his children don’t understand sometimes. He is a very good man and I want to thank him for raising Rhonnel as a good and God-fearing person just like him.

To our two great fathers and to all the fathers in the world, Happy Father’s Day!

Rhonnel as a Father

Though Rhonnel grew up with just one eye, he had a happy childhood. He may not had the chance to have all those material things he was wishing for when he was a child but he was blessed with many friends and playmates and lived a normal life. He is jolly and friendly until now and his disability was not a hindrance to his success.

Now that he is a father, he is working very hard and is making sure to give everything that RJ needs. He said that he was once deprived from good toys and other things and he won’t let that happen to our daughter. He wants RJ to have the same happy childhood as his.

Rhonnel is RJ’s best buddy and playmate.  He spends quality time with RJ playing computer games, watching movies, tickling each other or just hugging and cuddling. Most of all, he is RJ’s lawyer against me, lol! Because of these, RJ respects his dad so much that she follows his every word with enthusiasm and wants to please him most of the time. They are so close that they have talks that only two of them understand. Most of the time I caught them whispering to each other and whenever I ask what it is, they just laugh that makes me jealous sometimes.Waaah!

Rhonnel is a good person, a good son and doing his best to be the greatest dad.
