A TV Series for the Family

I have five siblings, 1 girl and 4 boys. All of them love action, comedy and suspense movies. I can watch romantic drama movies with my sister but not with my brothers so a funny movie or a mix of genres would be great to watch with them. What I will recommend is not actually a movie. It is an action-comedy-drama television program “Chuck”. Chuck is nickname of Charles Bartowski (Zachary Levi), a computer-geek next door who turned into a spy. This series is hilarious, suspenseful and has some action packed scenes. Like other TV series, there are characters that make Chuck alive and one of them is Ellie, Chuck’s troublesome sister who cares for him and loves him so much. Their relationship as siblings gives this series a little drama scenes and heart. It not only shows how amazing the spy world can be but also how great a family love is. This is a comedy, action and romance, all in one.  In 2009, this series won the Ewwy Award for Best Comedy Series and Zachary Levi for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.

Hubby and I loves this show. It is so addictive. Now, we are waiting for the next season. If you haven’t seen this, I suggest you download it now.

A Movie to Watch with Your Partner

What movie can I recommend to watch with your boyfriend or husband? Men hate romantic movies, right? Sorry for generalizing but most men I know do including my husband. But men love comedy films as much as they love action and some love sci-fi so I would recommend a romantic, sci-fi yet funny movie, the “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”. This is about a couple, Joel Barish (Jim Carrey) and Clementine Kruczynski Kate Winslet), who undergo procedure to erase each other from their memories when their relationship turns sour, but it is only through the process of loss that they discover what they had to begin with. There is a nice blend of romance for the ladies and comedy for the guys in this film. Both funny and touchingly romantic making it a perfect date movie. This is one of the few movies where everything is excellent. One of the best indeed and I highly recommend it. If you haven’t seen this movie, watch it and it will eternally shine in your mind.

you forget all the good that came with it.”

A Movie to Watch with Friends

There are movies that you would enjoy more if you will watch them with friends. Just the meet up itself is exciting yet, then grabbing a few snacks like popcorn and soda or eating on your favorite food chain or resto after. It is fun to laugh or giggle with them and chitchat about the movie after watching it as if you haven’t watched it together. What could be better movies to watch with your friends than the romantic ones? Nothing I think.

The latest movie that I would recommend to watch with your friends is “In Your Eyes”, a romantic drama under Viva Films and GMA Films directed by Mac Alejandre, top billed with Claudine Baretto (Ciara), Anne Curtis (Julia) and Richard Gutierrez (Storm). In Your Eyes is about two women who share the same dream and the desire to be loved until a storm tears them apart. Will you sacrifice your happiness when your own happiness already found another joy? Will you still fight even if the leaves of your heart wither from pain and sorrow? Will you surrender your felicity for the sake of replenishing your sister’s own happiness?

Intriguing huh? So go get your friends together, grab a few snacks, and be the firsts to watch it on August 18.

Watching Movies Together

Rhonnel and I are both addicted to movies and American TV series. A day won’t pass without us spending an hour or two in front of our TV or monitor rather, in the bedroom watching together and sometimes we spend weekends watching the whole day. What good is we love the same genre, action, detective/police story and comedy. We like romantic movies if it is also a comedy and we seldom watch horror and sci-fi movies. While we are watching, you won’t hear a thing except for our laughs (if it is a comedy film) and heartbeats. We enjoy it more when the room is dark and if we have chips, fries or anything to eat just like that of a movie house. We just watch and then discuss our reactions to the film after.

Rhonnel leaves the house at 7am and comes home at 6pm everyday. We are not together the whole day so watching movies is our one way of bonding and his way or relaxing. We are very thankful to our daughter for giving us some time to be alone. We don’t need to ban her from the room so hubby and I could watch together, lol! There are times that movies help us get in a romantic mood and reminisce those days when we were just dating. Being romantic doesn’t mean a five star hotel date or a candle light dinner (though this is best on special occasions). Often times, small and simple things are the most precious like eating together and watching movies together.
