“We’re not rich.” I heard this from hubby when RJ refused to finish her food. Yes, we are not rich but we are lucky enough to eat more than three times a day plus we can eat what we want and sometimes we eat out. But it doesn’t mean because we can eat anytime, RJ can squander food.
We have this “no left over policy” in the house because hubby and I believe that throwing away food is hardhearted. While the prices of food continue to rise, the number of Filipinos without enough to eat continue to increase as well. Just imagine how hard it is to sleep with an empty stomach. This is what I always tell RJ. But still, all she wants to eat are fish (selected) and cold cuts. Sigh.
I did tricks like this…decorating her food but it just worked for a while.
Now, it’s about time to try different new tricks like slipping veggies in her omelet or letting her eat lettuce, carrots and cucumber with chips and dip. Or may be I could have her involved in preparing and cooking our meals. Perhaps the more involved she’ll be, the more likely she’ll eat them.
