Puerto Nirvana is a small resort at Sitio Hondura, Poblacion, Puerto Galera. It can’t be considered as one of the posh resorts in Puerto Galera but we had a good time staying there. One of its advantage is that it is just a few minutes away from Muelle Pier and you can walk from the pier to Pueto Nirvana but if won’t be convenient if you have heavy luggage. Fare from the pier is just P10 ($0.25) per person if you will ride a tricycle.
The resort is along the national highway and just 300 meters away from the town proper thus accessible to convenience stores, canteens and restaurants, banks and public market. Most importantly, the place is clean and serene, has decent wi-fi signal, the foods are excellent (two thumbs up for their chef!), the staff are accommodating except for Manang in Puerto Nirvana’s restaurant who barely smiles, and…it has beach front!
5 stars for this delicious crabs in coconut milk
We got a deal from Ensogo that offers 3 days and 2 nights stay in Puerto Nirvana’s standard room for only P3,000. Sadly, the one we got was not seaside. We asked to be transferred to a seaside room even if it will cost us a few bucks more but the resort is fully booked that time. We had no choice but to stay on the standard room located on the inner second floor. The room is not bad though. It is air-conditioned with well-designed native interiors, with a queen size aero bed, cable TV, dresser, a small dining table and a clean toilet and bath with hot and cold shower.

Where to Plunge
The resort has 2 swimming pools, the infinity pool and the kiddie pool. The swimming pools are quite small so I assume that they are crowded during summer. There’s a beach though for those who want a good swim.

This is our favorite area in the resort…the reflection area. It is so nice of the resort’s owner to provide such spot where guests can be alone, reflect and pray. It also has a good panoramic view of Hondura Island Cove.
The resort has bar, restaurant, open function hall, souvenir shop, recreation room, kiddie playground, stage and activity area, shuttle service.

Yes, the resort also has tour packages (again, visit their website for the updated rates). However, for a cheaper tour package, we contacted someone from outside the resort recommended by the front desk. The tour includes swimming and picnic on Tamaraw Falls, snorkeling at Long Beach and swimming on Haligi Beach.
Pros and Cons
1. The place is clean and tranquil.
2. Almost complete amenities.
3. Additional services.
4. Accommodating and friendly staff.
5. Great view of sunrise and sunset.
1. Outdated appliances, televisions and refrigerators (not much of a hassle though).
2. Quite far from white beach and other known tourist spots in Puerto Galera like Tamaraw Falls and Talipanan Falls.
3. Food is great but expensive.
Are we going to stay again in Puerto Nirvana Resort if given the chance? The answer is “YES”. The thing that we love most in in the place is the panoramic view of the Hondura Island Cove with the enchanting sunset and sunrise. Such beauty are enough reasons to go back there.
