Purple – The Combination of Red and Blue

It is only now that I realized I do not have anything in purple; no purple tops, purse, bag and accessories. I don’t hate this color. It is just that I do not like it that much. But I think I should buy one though. Thanks Ms. Kaye for reminding me.
I will just share my daughter’s picture in purple blouse. This is a gift from my sister-in-law. I do not buy RJ any purple clothes as she has a dark skin tone. But when she put this on, she looked good in it, didn’t she?
And below are the only purple things we have in the house…RJs bone pillow and our little “kaha de yero”.
Purple is a combination of red and blue. In other parts of the world, it is associated with death and is being worn by widows mourning to their husbands’ deaths while in Christianity, purple represents pride. But the real meaning of  this color is royalty and nobility. So that explains why most of the Kings then wore purple velvet capes.

  1. Me too, I'm not much of a purple fan, especially not of dark or bright violet (I think lilac and lavender are cute though).

About purple and royalty – in ancient times, purple and blue dye were made from a tiny, rare mollusk, so purple dye was very, very expensive. The only ones who could afford to wear purple and blue were the really rich people, so those colors were associated with royalty. 🙂 Just a bit of trivia. 😀

  2. Purple is a royal color and is worn by royalties. Your kid looks good on purple. Purple is not a mourning color but black is. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
